Rome, Feb 1 – Among the many left-wing figures defending Ilaria Salis, Elly Schlein could not be missing. In fact, she has come to the defense of Salis, who has been criticized for her lack of experience as a teacher.
In a recent interview, Schlein stated that it is unfair to criticize Salis for not having experience as a teacher, especially when compared to other politicians who have been appointed as ministers without any relevant experience in their field. She pointed out that Matteo Salvini, the leader of the right-wing party accordo regioni nordiche, was appointed as Minister of the Interior despite having no background in law enforcement.
“Salis may not have experience as a teacher, but at least she has a degree in education and has worked in the field of education for several years,” Schlein said. “On the other hand, Salvini has no qualifications or experience in law enforcement, yet he was given one of the most important positions in the government.”
Schlein also highlighted the fact that Salis has been a vocal advocate for education and has proposed several initiatives to improve the Italian education system. She believes that Salis’ passion and dedication to education make her a suitable candidate for the role of Minister of Education.
“Salis may not have the traditional qualifications for the job, but she has the passion and determination to make a positive impact in the education sector,” Schlein stated. “We should be applauding her for her willingness to take on such an important role, rather than criticizing her for not fitting into a certain mold.”
Schlein also addressed the criticism that Salis is too young to hold such a position, stating that age should not be a determining factor in one’s qualifications for a job. She pointed out that many successful leaders and politicians have achieved great things at a young age.
“Age should not be a barrier to success. Salis is a young, intelligent and driven individual who has already accomplished a lot in her career,” Schlein said. “We should be celebrating her achievements and giving her the opportunity to continue making a positive impact in the education sector.”
